The E30 program ships

The 183-page customer edition left the bench this week: the original vector visual appendix, 177 bookmarks and build records, and exact-configuration verification for every E30 body style. The boxy classic, planned like a factory program — because that's what it is.

Most E30 swap threads on the forums end at the same place: "where does the harness go?" That question arrives about three decisions too late. By then the donor is bought, the transmission is chosen, and the budget is already negotiating with reality.

This file starts two steps earlier. Before parts money moves, the guide asks whether your exact car — body style, year, existing wiring, intended use — is an achievable project at all. Exact-configuration verification is the first section for a reason: it's the gate every other decision passes through.

What shipped in the box

183 pages, structured the way the flagship architecture works: controller-first integration decisions, measurement and fabrication records, commissioning order, and the permanent as-built record system. The visual appendix is original vector work — drawn for this guide, not lifted from a forum post.

Why the E30 deserved its own program

The E30 is where most B58 swap ambition starts — and where most of it stalls, because the chassis predates every system the B58 expects. A guide that treats it as "an E9x with different fenders" fails the car. This one treats the E30 as the subject and the B58 as the guest: the integration plan is built around what the chassis actually has, not what a modern car would have.

That's the difference between a plan and a wish. The plan ships; the wish posts in a thread.
